oh, poor watcher. did your life pass before your eyes? cuppa tea, cuppa tea, almost got shagged, cuppa tea?

I started making this cross stitch around 1st of may (when else?) & now that it was finished, I wanted to use it for something suitable. & what's better than a tea cozy? I've never made one before, but with a little help from the internet & my cousin who provided some of the material, it actually turned out pretty nice. I won't show you the inside of it now though, 'cause there you can really see that sewing isn't my line of business...

The plan is to also line it with some of that red satin ribbon. But after three broken sewing machine needles I felt that my patience was running out, so I'm saving that for some other day.

You wanna make your own tea cozy? Here's a tutorial in swedish & here's one in english. & here you have the pattern I used, I made it from one of the stencils at Radical Graphics.

While you're at it, take a look at this girls crafty blog, I really found it inspiring for today's project.

Hey, Johanna,
You are a very angry girl! But you don't hold it in; therefore you won't get ulcers! Good for you, girl!

I actually have a question. I'm doing a cross stitch of Frida Kaloe for a team challenge. It's a self portrait. How do you do her nose since it's the same color as her face? I tried to do back stitch around it(her nose) but it didn't help. Duh! What did I think would happen? It all blended together. I guess I need to use a different color and back stitch around her nose. Thanks for listening. I think I answered my own question. Now to take out what I've done around it and do over. It's a good thing we love cross stitch because the unstitch and rethread needle bits get old sometimes. Any other suggestion will be greatly appreciated. I'll save your shop. Mines very tame. Check it out. katscozykrafts.etsy.com Hugs,Kat

Hi there,
I was wondering if you had a cross stitch pattern generator you use? I tried to do some searches but no success!

laura: i've been using the free version of PC Stitch (just google it to get to the downloading page). you can't save any patterns with the free one, but you can take screenshots of them & paste them into another image program & save them that way.

Thanks for the tip! I uploaded a picture I want to use in there and, man, there are a million colors in this. Not quite sure how to change that...
