join the revolution sisters!

Pat Robertson, founder of the Christian Coalition, is one of the funniest men alive. He probably doesn't know it himself, but if you look at this list of quotes, you'll understand what I mean. The best part of this quote is of course that when you think about it, he's actually not that wrong... iId say that he's captured the essens of feminism with this, even though I'm still a bit confused by the witchcraft part.

Haha. I was just thinking the same thing, "That doesn't sound too bad..." :D

And it looks awesome too. Great work!

Nice! How long did that take?

a little less than two weeks. if i had bothered with drawing up the pattern for the text (so that it would've been centered) it would probably taken an extra day or so. but i just did it free hand instead, that's why the left side is straight and the right isn't...

"not that wrong" ??!!!

anonymous: well yeah... you just have to think about pat's words from a different perspective. for me at least, feminism without socialism isn't enough, so he's got that part right. it's anti-family in the sense that it questions the traditional role of family & female/male relationships which leads to encouraging women to actually leave abusive husbands. i guess "kill their children" is pat's way of talking about free abortion (& don't get me started on womens rights to their own bodies), destroying capitalism seems unavoidable if you wanna destroy patriarchy & finaly the feminist movement also has influenced the queer/gay movements (even though the liberals have stolen queer from us). but i'm still confused about the witchcraft, anyone got any ideas?

Pfff... Questioning is not necessarily being anti-things,and encouraging gay movements (hum.. political movements, I mean, lol) doesn't mean that the purpose of feminism is to make all women become lesbians ! There is maybe 1% of truth in this quote, and this % is crashed by the first sentence, in my opinion. Well in fact there is no truth at all, as it is totally distorted by his wicked mind ! Hem, sorry, I'm having my periods...;o)
Pat is indeed a funny man, but it kinda hurts my eyes when I read this kind of quote, lol !

About witchcraft, a theory : as there are, for example, some feminist men, a some women who managed to "infiltrate" the power spheres of the economic world, feminists must be witches. How else could you explain those things ? Ability ? Iron will ? Strength ? Naah... Witchcraft !

well, it hurt my eyes too when i saw it the first time - but that's why i think it's important to take pat's twisted view of reality & turn it against himself (which was the point with this). if you want me to explain it further you have to leave a name & e-mail, this anonymous thing doesn't do it for me.

loved the theory about the witchcraft though.
